Office Administrator

Quarch Technology is a world leader in test automation tools for the data storage industry. We are growing rapidly, and now require a proactive, ambitious, office administrator, to assist in the general running of our Aviemore office.

Due to our rapid growth, the opportunities to learn and progress your career are very significant. As well as your core responsibilities, you will have the chance to get involved with other aspects of the company that interest you.

The Role

While you will be well supported to begin with, we expect you to be proactive and unafraid to research and learn on the job.

Responsibilities can be tailored to your skills but could include:

  • Finance: processing invoices, account reconciliation, vendor payments
  • HR: Inductions, health and safety policies, personnel records, recruitment
  • Admin: filing, answering phones, purchasing office supplies, booking travel
  • Shipping: preparing and booking shipments, handling customs queries
  • Purchasing: Managing supply chain, tracking orders, purchasing parts
  • Operations: Raising and tracking work orders, preparing reports and analysis

This job is a full-time, permanent position but we are happy to discuss flexible hours at the start, if this would help you during any transition.

You Must Have

 

  • Attention to detail and a strong focus on the quality of your work
  • A proactive attitude and ability to show initiative
  • Excellent English and communication skills
  • Good IT Skills (Word, Office, Excel, Outlook)
  • A proven ability to interact well in a small office/team
  • Ability to plan your time to balance multiple deadlines

It would be an advantage if you have any of

  • Bookkeeping or Finance experience
  • Experience of purchasing or supplier management
  • Knowledge of HR and Employment best practice
  • An understanding of procedures and process improvement
  • Experience with Fedex/UPS/DHL

Electronics Design Engineer

Quarch Technology is a world leader in test automation tools for data storage and high speed interconnects. We are firmly established with major suppliers worldwide and growing rapidly. We now require additional technical staff to join the development team to design innovative new products within this rapidly moving sector.

The company in located in Aviemore in the heart of the beautiful Cairngorms National park. The town provides a peaceful setting and a large array of summer and winter activities, along with excellent schooling.  For those who prefer city life, Inverness (Europe’s fastest growing city) is only 30 miles away. Aviemore benefits from direct rail links to Inverness, Edinburgh, Glasgow and London.

 

The Role

We are looking for an ambitious and motivated Electronics Engineer to take a key role to develop innovative new products and assist with enhancements and support of the existing product families.

 

Main requirements

Electronic Design

  • Microcontrollers
  • Digital Electronics
  • Analogue Electronics

PCB Design

  • Schematic Capture and PCB Layout

Prototype build and board rework

Hardware testing, fault finding and verification skills

 

It would be an advantage if you have

  • Experience of High Speed PCB Design
  • VHDL and FPGA Programming experience
  • Understanding of high speed data interfaces such as SAS, SATA, PCIe, Ethernet, USB
  • Scripting and programming experience (Python, C, Java, C#)

  • A 2:1 or higher degree in Electronics or similar and good working knowledge of fundamental electronics concepts
