14/04/2011 - Supply Chain Manager/Buyer
Quarch Technology is a rapidly growing electronics company operating from the centre of Aviemore. We currently have a position available for a supply chain manager.
The position will require an intelligent, skilled and adaptable candidate who can balance a range of responsibilities. In return, the position will provide excellent experience and the opportunity to progress as the company expands. The position may be full or part time, this will be negotiated later.
Main Responsibilities
Your main role will be to ensure that our products are built and delivered on time, in a quick and efficient way. This will involve:
- - Working with existing suppliers
- - Locating stocks of parts
- - Calculating time-scales and build costs
- - Maintaining inventory levels
- - Locating new suppliers
- - Negotiating terms and pricing
As we do not build products all the time, you will also be expected to help with the general administration of the company.
- - Track customer invoices to ensure they are paid on time
- - File invoices, statements etc
- - Schedule shipping of freight
- - Paying suppliers
Candidates must have
- - Good computer skills, including internet use, Excel, Word etc
- - Excellent organisational/planning skills and attention to detail
- - Good spoken and written English and maths skills
- - Ability to learn new skills and adapt quickly as the needs of the company change
It would be an advantage if you have previous experience of
- - Stock control
- - Purchasing
- - Contacting clients and customers
- - Accounting/Finance
- - Paying and issuing invoices
- - Electronics and/or other technologies
Salary/Benefits
(Pro-rated if part time)
- - Starting salary up to £20k depending on experience
- - 25 days annual holiday (plus 1 day per year worked, up to 30 days)

Quarch Technology is a rapidly growing electronics company operating from the centre of Aviemore. We currently have a position available for a graduate electronics engineer
The position will require an intelligent, skilled and adaptable candidate with a degree in Electronics Engineering or similar.
Main Responsibilities
Your main role will be to design electronic test equipment
- - Product Design / Specification
- - Schematics Capture
- - PCB Layout
- - Prototyping
Candidates must have
- - Excellent general computer skills
- - Degree in Electronic Engineering or similar
- - Good spoken and written English and maths skills
- - Ability to learn new skills and adapt quickly as the needs of the company change
It would be an advantage if you have previous experience of
- - PCB layout software
- - Data Storage
- - Lattice FPGAs
- - PIC Microcontrollers / Firmware Development

14/04/2011 - Electronics Technician (Ad-hoc/Contract)
Quarch Technology is a rapidly growing electronics company operating from the centre of Aviemore.
We require an experienced electronics technician to carry out assembly of prototype designs and diagnose and rework faulty products. This be working on a flexible/ as required basis, probably around one day per week. As such, a local applicant would be preferred.
Main Responsibilities
Your main role will be to build and test new PCB designs
- - Order required components
- - Assemble boards through Hand and/or Reflow Soldering
- - Perform basic testing and fault finding
Candidates must have
- - Experience of PCB assembly
- - Good soldering skills, including microscope SMT work
Salary/Benefits
- - Around £10/hour
- - Flexible working hours
